Between Responsibilities and Deadlines 😭

Monday, March 23rd, 2026 Today we continued working on the topic of stressful situations, reviewing the present perfect and doing activities in the book. I have also been doing paperwork and sending emails because I still haven’t received my criminal record certificate, and I really need it to finish my camp process.

Building Friendships Step by Step

Friday, March 20th, 2026 Today I spent time with other girls who are slowly becoming my friends. My best friends from university had their admission exam because they are thinking about changing their major to study medicine ☺️. Also, in Meta we did activities with Naomi in the book and had a kind of conversation about things that stress us.

The Road to Summer Camp 🏕️

Thursday, March 19th, 2026 Today was a very tiring day because after leaving university, I went to finish my passport process. It is one of the requirements to complete my registration and start my visa process to go to Summer Camp.

Breaking the Rules of a Traditional Exam 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 Today we had another exam, this time for Language Acquisition. It was a bit strange because after about 15 minutes, the teacher said we could use artificial intelligence to answer it, and most students finished very quickly.

A Challenging but Successful Exam

Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 Today we had a French exam, which was easy, but a bit difficult for me because we could only listen to the audios twice, and I ran out of time, so I made some mistakes. However, I still got a good score.

Preparing for a Well-Deserved Rest 😅

Thursday, March 12th, 2026 Today was the last day of the week, since we are going on a long weekend break and will return on Tuesday. I also took advantage of the time after school because we left about an hour earlier than usual. I went to the bank to pick up my debit card and paid the form to get my criminal record certificate released.

Brazilian Flavors and Unexpected Truths

Imagen
Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 Today, my friend Liliana and I stayed for a course at the faculty about a typical Brazilian drink, since there was an event related to Brazilian culture. The course was simple, but we had a really good time. Also, today I realized that a guy was being unfaithful to me, but I didn’t give it much importance because I have too many things to focus on to feel bad for someone.

Countable and Uncountable Nouns

Today we started learning about countable and uncountable nouns. We saw examples with words such as work, job, food, and meals. Some of these words can have similar translations in Spanish, but they are not always used in the same situations because some are countable and others are uncountable. That is why it is important to learn the correct context in which each word should be used.

Today we continued working on the topic that Naomi taught us on Friday about possessive pronouns. Now the topic is a little clearer for me, and I understand better when to use each one. I can also identify more easily when something is a possessive adjective or a possessive pronoun.

Possessive Adjectives and Possessive Pronouns

Today we had class with Naomi, and we started studying the topic of possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns. At first it was not very clear to me, but now I have a general idea of what the topic is about. Our teacher gave us a simple key to help us understand it better: Pronouns: replace the subject → I, you, he, she… Possessive adjectives: show possession and are followed by a noun → my book Possessive pronouns: show possession without a noun → The book is mine.

My Summer Camp Interview

Today was one of the most important days for me because I had my interview for a summer camp. It went very well, and I was accepted into a camp in Tennessee. I will leave on May 22nd and return on July 5th. This experience will be very different and probably one of the most unique experiences in my life. I am very excited about everything I will learn and experience during this time.

Wednesday, March 4th, 2026

Today we took the second midterm exam and, without a doubt, it went really well. It felt more manageable, and the topics were things I had already seen in my “META” classes. At the end, I forgot a little how to write the email, but besides that, everything went well.

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026

Today we took the first midterm exam. Honestly, I felt it was very difficult and long. I didn’t get a good grade because I got very nervous and couldn’t concentrate. I also ran out of time, which affected my results.

Monday, March 2nd, 2026

Today we worked with Gerardo and reviewed the topics that might be on the exam. We did an activity where we had to identify the grammatical tense of each paragraph.

Friday, February 27th, 2026

Today the class went by really fast because most of the time the student teacher gave us games and very dynamic activities about comparatives and superlatives. “META” was the only class we had, so I left early to travel and visit my family.

Today the teacher checked my answers from a test we did about the present perfect and she told me they were good, but I have two errors. Today was my first tutoring session with her and she gave me tips to expand my vocabulary. She also recommended a YouTube channel for children or teenagers.

February 25th, 2026

Today we had the whole class with Gerardo 🧑🏻‍🏫 because our teacher👩🏻‍🏫 left to check on a project she is collaborating on for the faculty🏫. Gerardo finished explaining the topic of "comparatives and superlatives" ☺️ which is now clearer to me, although I still have a few mistakes. I know that if I keep practicing, I will improve. ☺️🧑🏻‍🏫

Comparative and superlative

Tuesday, February 24, 2026 Today we were working on the topic of comparatives and superlatives, which is becoming a bit clearer to me, although I still have some doubts. As always, the teacher has us learn a new topic one day and reinforce it the next day. I hope we can review it better tomorrow. Even so, with the explanation she gave us today, the topic became somewhat more understandable. And this is how comparatives and superlatives are used: Comparatives They are used to compare two things ( more… than ). Short adjective: adjective + -er + than tall → taller than small → smaller than Example: Mexico is bigger than Peru. Long adjective (2+ syllables): more + adjective + than beautiful → more beautiful than Example: The west is more expensive than the north. Superlatives They are used to compare three or more things and say the most or the least (the most…). Short adjective: the + adjective + -est tall → the tallest small → the smallest Example:...

Today I took all my classes online 💻because our in-person classes were canceled due to the security situation in Mexico 🇲🇽 not being very good on Sunday 🥷Since I am not from Puebla, I couldn’t return to the city earlier, so at seven in the morning I took my first class, which was French, then I had Meta, taught by Gerardo, and finally MELE. After that class, I took my transportation 🚎to go back to Puebla city 🏙️everything was very calm, and I arrived home very quickly.😊

Recipe for my friend

Hi Julieta 🩷 I hope you’re doing great! 😊 Today I want to share a super simple and quick recipe that I love to make when I want something tasty without much effort. ☺️ Recipe: Quick ham and cheese quesadillas Ingredients: 🧀🫓🧈 2 tortillas (corn or flour) 2 slices of ham 2 slices of cheese (your choice) 1 teaspoon of butter or oil Steps: Heat a pan over medium heat and add the butter or oil. Place one tortilla in the pan. Put the ham and cheese on top. Cover with the other tortilla. Cook for about 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts and the tortilla is golden. Carefully flip it and cook the other side. Remove from the pan, cut into triangles, and enjoy! They’re delicious and perfect for a snack or a light dinner. If you make them, tell me how they turn out 😋 Hugs,  Xime 💕

Today the whole class felt that the lesson went by very quickly because we had planned to celebrate our teacher Dalila’s birthday, 🥳which is today. However, we are studying the structures of the past participle, 📚which is mainly used to talk about experiences. 🧗🏻‍♀️ Unfortunately, the surprise was spoiled because the teacher gave an example about whether we have ever forgotten a birthday 🫠, and she asked us when her birthday was.😓 So we all answered that it was today, 🤭and we sang “Las Mañanitas”🥳 to her. It was not as special as we had planned, but we still celebrated and sang to her.🩷👩🏻‍🏫

Today I stayed with some girls from my class who I get along with very well, and we stayed together to complete laboratory hours in the CAA 🖥️so we can improve our English level. 🤓Those activities are very nice, but the ones I liked the most were the audiobooks 🎧📖because by listening to the audio 🎤 and reading the text, 📙I could understand very well. 😊

Tuesday, February 17th, 2026

Today was quite tiring and a little different from the other days because I started my tutoring sessions with Gerardo 🙋🏻‍♂️who explains the topics very well 🗣️For now we are going to review from Unit One of our book 📖Today we began with the topic of questions ❓❓ and we saw the difference between those that start with an auxiliary (closed questions) and those that start with a wh-word (open questions)  The wh-questions are used to ask for more information, 🔍while the ones that begin with an auxiliary are answered with short responses like “yes” or “no.”🤷🏻‍♀️ Honestly, the topic was very clear to me ☺️ I understood it very well 😌The teacher Dalila also joined the meeting. 👩🏻‍🏫🩷

Monday, February 16th, 2026

Today we reviewed expressions such as “had to,” “have to,” and “didn’t have to.” 😶‍🌫️🤷🏻‍♀️ We also started studying verbs and their conjugations in the simple past and past participle. ✍🏻 The teacher made the class very dynamic because we held hands 👫🏻👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏼and each student had to say a conjugation or mention a new verb. Then, the next classmate had to say the corresponding form. 🤗

Today has been a very pleasant day 🤗 I received some gifts 💐🎁 The first was a rose that the lady who sells food 🥪outside the university gave me, and the second was some candies 🍬that teacher Dalila, the service girl and a classmate gave us 🤭 It was very nice because they made us feel special 🩷 The class was also very nice, because we had to write on a sheet our happiest memories of some stage of our previous schools 🏫but anonymously, and then we had to identify whose memory it was 💭 After the last class, which is "MELÉ", I went to my hometown 🏔️with my family 👩🏻👵🏼👩🏽👦🏻whom I missed a lot, especially my mother. 👩🏻💓

Thursday, February 12, 2026

Today we had our online class 💻 in Teams. It felt very fast because we worked one hour with the teacher and the other hour with the social service student. 📖 During the first hour, we did an activity in which we all had to join the same document 📑and write five questions ❓for our classmates. Then, we had to answer the questions that were written for us. 💭 In the second class ⏱️, the social service student 🙋🏻‍♂️explained the topic of “modals” After that, we did a brief exercise, and everything was very clear. 😊

Wednesday, February 11th, 2026

Today the Meta class was easy, but at the same time we learned something we should already know: how to ask questions correctly using “do” Most of the class didn’t use that connector, so the teacher pointed it out to us 😅 After her observation, we corrected our mistakes and did it properly.😌 Time went by very fast. Later, we played Hangman 💀The teacher 👩🏻‍🏫divided the class into two teams, and we had to complete the words that appeared on the board. Both teams did well, but Team One was the winner. 🏆🥇

Monday, February 9th, 2026

Today we had class with our teacher Dalila 🩷👩🏻‍🏫. We did an activity on our phones 📲using the topic of “modals”, but many classmates were not able to enter the game 🎮. Today I felt very bad because a few weeks ago we had a “Pearson” exam😔, and honestly, I found it difficult 🙁I remember that I might not have submitted it correctly, and today when the teacher gave us the results😖I didn’t do well. That really made me feel bad, and I don’t know what to do. Sometimes I feel like I’m never going to learn ☹️

Friday, February 6th, 2026

Today the class was different because a new girl arrived who is going to teach🧍🏻‍♀️us only on Fridays🗓️. Honestly, she is very good at explaining and she does fun activities so that the topics are clear to us🤗. I wanted the classes to end quickly because I wanted to go home to be with my family, since this week was very difficult and I suppose next week will be even more difficult☹️. I have had some problems and I haven’t been able to concentrate 100%🤧. It has been very hard for me, but hopefully everything will be fine soon 🙁

Thursday, February 5th, 2026

Today, the class went by very fast 💨because we reviewed the homework 📄that we had been assigned. 📚 The homework consisted of reviewing all the topics we had seen during this unit in order to complete the activity. ✅ This review helped us understand the topics even better. Later, Ronaldo 🤷🏻‍♂️gave us another activity so that everything would be even clearer. 👍🏼 One recommendation that our teacher Dalila 🩷gave us was that if we still do not fully understand the topics, we can look for explanations on TikTok 📲or use the tools that the Faculty offers. 🔍📚I really liked this class. 📖✨

Wednesday, February 4th, 2026

Today’s class was very short 🤏🏻 because the teacher let us leave early since they were giving tamales 🫔 at the university luckily my friends and I were able to get some. 🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️🤍 In class, we talked about what we will more or less see in Unit Three 📚and the teacher asked us what our favorite book is. She also left us homework: to do the activities on page 26 of the book, which is a review of all Unit Two📗, with the topics we have already studied, and to read a little from the new unit. 📘

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026

Today in our Meta class, we only worked with the book 📚and did some activities on our phones, such as Guacamole 📲. The activities in the book were easy, but we had to pay close attention because the teacher played an audio and we had to complete the words in the book with what we heard in the audio. The class went by very fast, and I understood everything very well. For homework, 📄the teacher asked us to continue studying some conversations that we saw in our book. 📕📘☺️

Friday, January 30, 2026

Today was the last day of the week before a big suspension of classes, we will return to classes on Tuesday, today we did an activity where we have to ask a question to five of our classmates and then make a text that question that I asked my classmates was what. Do you feel if your computer breaks down and you lose all your morning work and they answered me the following 1. Belén: I really feel stressed and you lose all your morning work. 💻 2. Lalo: I feel really stressed but I find a solution to the problem. ⌨️ 3. Yoana: She gets stressed for a moment. 😬 4. Yessi: I feel stressed. Sometimes she cries.😭 5. Kari: I feel stressed and angry. I try to stay relaxed.😡😌 With that we have to do as homework a text that the different groupings had, as we have seen in our goal class, which are "all of them, most of them, Lost of Them, some of them, none of them" In the following survey, I asked my classmates what they would do if their computer crashed. Both of them...

Expressions of Quantity Today in META class👩🏻‍🏫, we did an activity where we had to put words that matched each box. One example was the verb take, which was combined with a break, a look, a shower, and others. We did the same with more words. Something new that I learned today was the difference between appointment and date. Appointment is used in a formal context👨🏻‍💼👩🏻‍💼🫱🏻‍🫲🏼, while date is used in a romantic context❤️, for example, when you want someone to be your boyfriend👩🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻, using these words, we created four questions by ourselves. In my case, Ronaldo 💁🏻‍♂️checked my work and I only had two corrections. He also wrote a small comment😃✍🏻, which made me feel good because it means that I did my work well. Finally, we reviewed a topic about how to say all, both, most, some, and none. Teacher Dalila left us homework 📝to study these for tomorrow so we can review the topic more in depth.☺️

Airport 🛩️process and the use of “THE” 🫵🏻 Today we continued learning about the airport process in order to travel 🛩️, and it became much clearer for me. We also reviewed the use of “THE” 🫵🏻, and I understood it better as well. After that, we did an activity that consisted of writing the airport process using “THE” 🪪🧳✈️. For homework, the teacher asked us to write about an experience we have had on public transportation. 😬🛣️🚌 Recently, I had a problem while traveling by combi to the CCU. 🏫  It happened at the end of November during the Christmas tree lighting. 🎄  I was with a friend, and we were sitting near the door. 🚌 , the girl in front of us was robbed, and the situation became tense. 🙅🏻‍♀️📲  I felt the fear, but when we arrived at the CCU, everything improved. 😖☺️

ZERO Article vs THE Today class was very interesting for me, but at the beginning I found it very complicated😬 because I hadn’t studied anything related to transportation 🛫🚗🚎 or vacations 🧳before. However, when teacher Dalila explained the topic 👩🏻‍🏫 I understood it very well. I understood it even better when we did activities in pairs. Another topic that I hadn’t seen in previous courses was “ZERO Article vs THE” 🚫🫵🏻 This topic explains that “THE” 🫵🏻 is used to describe oceans and seas, rivers, mountain ranges, deserts, countries with words like republic or states, and geographical areas. On the other hand, the “ZERO” 🚫 article is used when nothing is placed before nouns, such as continents, countries, states, cities and towns, street names, lakes, and a single mountain. In conclusion, today I learned a lot. 🩵☺️

In today’s class, we had a great time to start the class, we played an “impostor” game which helped us review and remember how the simple past and past continuous are structured then, we watched some slides about the differences between the simple past and the past continuous, and everything became very clear to me the topic helped me remember some important points that I had forgotten. Finally, we did an activity where we had to say the names of the animals we heard in an audio that teacher Dalila played for us. 👩🏻‍🏫🤗

Friday, January 23, 2026

Today we did an activity in which we had to write three names of animals that we knew At the end of the activity, it showed us which animal we knew the most. It was fun because most people repeated lion and dog. I also learned the name of an animal that I had never heard before the “kiwi” which is a kind of bird.

Thursday, January 22, 2026

Today we did a very relaxed activity, but we worked in pairs. I was paired with a classmate I had never worked with before. This type of activity is very dynamic because it allows us to get to know new classmates we had not talked to before, even though we are in the same classroom. 🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️ Another topic we reviewed with teacher Dalila, which I didn’t know before, is that –ING is used to talk about activities or actions in progress. I thought it was only used for actions. 🏊‍♀️🎹 Later, the teacher Dalila intern helped us answer our activity book. 📚📝

Today, to start our META II class, we did an activity that consisted of answering some questions about emotions. 😃😞😡🤔  Then we did a very nice activity because we wrote our name on a sheet of paper and passed it around to our classmates, and they wrote compliments about us. They wrote very nice things about me that made me feel really good. After that, we continued with activities from the book 📚✍🏻

Tuesday, January 20th, 2026

Today we reviewed the simple present and the present continuous so that everything becomes clearer and we avoid making mistakes in the future. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️👍🏼 We also did an activity about emotions where several of my classmates went to the front and drew an emotion, and we had to guess which one it was. 😁☹️😡😕 Finally, a classmate explained more or less how to write an email and gave us some phrases on how to start and end it. 📩✍️
